| Description | STONE AVENUE UNDERPASS CARTOUCHE - In 1934 Original Cartouche Drawing Used On The Stone Av Underpass Built By State Of Arizona Highway Department As Built Plan 4/13/1936. The Cartouche Was Drawn By D. E. Chenault March 15, 1934. Last Page Of Plan Number I-461. The Cartouche Was Recreated By Sculptor Nicholas Burk From The Original Drawings. The Original Cartouche Was Intended To Be Realized By A Concrete Form Liner, But Was Reproduce In Fiberglass.(SEE Page No. 2) The Recreated Cartouche Was Installed In April 2002 And Dedicated By Mayor Robert Walkup April 16, 2002. This Project Was Funded By A Mayor's Back To Basics Grant.(Reference Plan Number I-461) |
